Covid-19 Thoughts on 8/23/21

Use logic in what you are being told

There is a large chasm between what we are being told by the government (regurgitated by the media) in many cases across many issues. We need to wake up as a people and use our brains. Think outside the box. Ask questions. A few examples:

  • Who are the un-vaccinated? Politicians immediately blamed Trump voters and demonized them as murderers. Did you question both assertions? First Trump voters. I understand the politics of never letting an opportunity go to waste but do you really think people are basing a decision on taking a vaccine on whether they are either a R or D? If anything, the vaccine was pushed by Trump at record speed. Trump voters, if based on politics alone, should be 100% vaccinated. Both Biden and Harris are on video record questioning the Covid-19 vaccine pre-election. They called it the Trump vaccine. In reality, you can divide America any way you want (political party, economic status, educational level, gender, age or ethnicity) and I guarantee that no group will be near 100% vaccinated. There are groups of people that have been wrongly tested medically in the past and may have some hesitation, including African Americans, Native Indians, Hispanics, the indigent/poor and even the military. There are millions of Americans that have already contracted Covid-19, have natural immunity and don’t want to risk possible serious side effects with an unnecessary shot. There are large numbers of people that are immuno compromised and concerned about getting a virus shot. Even the medical professionals themselves are not nearly 100% vaccinated. Un-vaccinated murderers? Really, you didn’t hear that as over the top hyperbole immediately? Don’t be surprised if the un-vaccinated are called deplorable racists. On this subject I will just ask this. What percentage of drunk drivers that kill someone are actually charged with murder? Ridiculous.
  • The talking point that “Vaccines are safe, effective and permanent”. The reality: the shot is relatively safe, not so effective against Delta and is most effective for about 8 months. So I am not a doctor or scientist but how do know the vaccines are not nearly as effective against Delta than previous variants? I never heard the term “breakthrough cases” concerning Covid-19 until Delta entered the picture. And then there were “breakthrough cases” everywhere. The American people, by and large, took the line that “Vaccines are highly effective” until Biden came out last week and said we are going to need booster shots. I.E. a yearly shot will be necessary. My immediate thought, ’cause my brain thinks that way, was “How long did the government know the shots lose efficacy over time before Biden announced last week the need for booster shots?” Let me give you some clues. Several studies and efficacy over time have all indicated reduced efficacy. Those results did not come out last week. Pfizer came out months ago saying that booster shots were going to be required. So, the government including WHO, CDC and NIH have mulled this over for months all the while not saying anything publicly. Biden didn’t just wake up last week in a vacuum and think, “Hmmm lets give a national briefing on the need for booster shots today.”

We need to manage our expectations

There are still a large percentage of people in America (probably the world) that believe that Covid-19 is a war that can be won. They believe we can eradicate the virus so that we can go back to a 2015 norm. While that MAY be possible, it definitely is not going to happen anytime soon and will not change until some contagion pathways are addressed, such as children under twelve and pets. Hey, we have all known for most of our lives that schools are germ factories. If children 2 to 12 can’t be vaccinated, that is a major mountain to climb. It is also possible for cats and dogs to contract Covid-19. Mandated animal vaccines anyone? So I choose to try to see the world without preconceptions or filters. In my view, the Covid-19 virus was most likely a human engineered chimera virus that was created in Wuhan China. I am not blaming the Chinese because there was obvious American government involvement. However, that lab was obviously not constructed to house such contagions. And at some point, someone is going to have to explain to me why it is in the interest of humanity to engineer these type of things in a lab. I believe the current shots were highly effective against the first couple variants until Delta. I also believe someone knew from the beginning these were yearly Covid-19 shots like the flu shots. These shots are not, in my opinion, a true vaccine in the way most Americans define vaccines. I believe Covid-19 is so contagious and mutates so quickly that it will be very hard to eradicate this virus completely. So, stop trying to jump into a time machine and travel back to 2015. And just like the common cold or flu, this virus will most likely not be eradicated through vaccinations. So I believe we should be fixated on managing the pandemic. What do I mean? The hospitalization and morbidity rate for Covid-19 are pretty low. If our medical system gets overrun with too many patients at once, those numbers could change dramatically. What does a 17 hour wait in an ambulance (like in LA during a previous Covid wave) do to patient care? Not just for Covid patients either. What does hours long wait in an ambulance effect stroke victims, heart attack victims, car accident victims, shooting victims or even drug overdose victims? What happens if we run out of oxygen for our hospitals? What if we run out of respirators to use? What if we run out of beds in hospitals or medical professionals to care for everyone? So I believe that managing any surges so that they don’t overrun our medical system and stop fixating on vaccines and masks. Hey, we should be able to walk and chew gum. We can mange limited hospital resources, pursue additional resources (respirators, oxygen, N95 masks?), fully utilize therapeutic remedies available AND look at vaccine requirements and cotton mask requirements. Hey, I am an all the above kind of guy (if you knew me that would be funny). The light at the end of the tunnel may be natural immunity but it could get ugly if the health care system is completely overrun.

Government sticks for un-vaccinated

  • Most people know that the federal government has gone to the courts to determine that employers can require vaccination for employment. Interesting side note. Who is the largest employer in the US? Government. The only people the government has mandated vaccines for are the military. This is really galling to me because I was in the military and lets be honest the military is just easy pickins’. You order a group that have been programmed to say, “Sir, yes sir” and have no real representation to disagree. Unlike the government workers union or teachers union. If politicians think this is so necessary, mandate vaccines across the board. But no. Politics rules supreme, even in a worldwide pandemic. F*@#ing cowards.
  • Most people know that increasingly more areas are requiring vaccine requirements to go out into public buildings and venues. I think forcing restaurants, bars, dance clubs, movie theaters, sports arenas, etc. to police Covid requirements is frankly piss poor. You are requiring these places to increase their workload and possibly add employees to enforce a government policy that is going to be confrontational.
  • Most people know that planes, trains and buses have been forcing vaccination and mask requirements for a while now. Did you know that the government is considering restricting interstate travel for the un-vaccinated?
  • Did you know that senior living facilities will not be re-reimbursed by Medicare/Medicaid for un-vaccinated seniors living there?
  • Did you know that multiple people have been removed off of transplant lists because they weren’t vaccinated? People that have been on organ transplant lists, sometimes longer than the Covid crisis and are immuno compromised are being told to take the vaccine or be dropped off the transplant list. Simply Orwellian.
  • Did you know that the government sat down and discussed medical resources that may become limited during a Covid surge? They didn’t report on what was being done to expand limited resources. They determined that if resources are limited due to a Covid surge such as respirators and oxygen, vaccinated will get priority over the un-vaccinated. I have no idea if that means un-vaccinated people will be removed from oxygen or respirators if a vaccinated person needs one.

Stay informed, safe and healthy.
