#MeToo and Cuomo

Sorry, after reading this post, I took it down to rewrite it. I think men in power believe they can treat women poorly and get away with it. It has been that way for eons. That doesn’t make it right, at all.

So for me, it took a while to understand the #MeToo movement. Initially I read about a group of women that were accomplished actresses that had been expected to exchange sexual favors for acting roles. Do I believe them? Absolutely. Did the term casting couch come to mind? Yes.

Then there were people politically motivated to speak up. Between accusations against Trump and Kavenaugh it was hard to stomach. I have to tell you when politics come to play I don’t trust anyone. So do I believe these women? Who knows.

Then there is Cuomo. He is being accused from 11 women that I am going to assume are all democrats that he was a sexual predator. These women with nothing to gain and a lot to lose spoke out. It was at this point I had a epiphany.

It takes a pride of lions to take down an elephant.

I still think if you are assaulted by anyone my recommendation would be to call the cops immediately. Not call a reporter 20 years later. But I can also acknowledge that individually these women could be ignored or marginalized but as a group they are much harder to ignore.
